I earned my Medical Degree from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru, completed my Master of Public Health at the University of Miami, and pursued psychiatry training at Tulane University School of Medicine before completing advanced specialization training in Addiction Psychiatry at Yale University. I am board certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry and have over 20 years of experience working across inpatient, outpatient, community mental health, and substance use treatment settings. I work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, thought disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and substance use challenges, and I take an integrative approach that thoughtfully combines evidence-based psychiatry with holistic perspectives shaped by my cultural background and experiences in indigenous communities throughout Peru. I also favor treatment approaches that minimize the use of controlled substances whenever possible. My goal is for you to feel understood as a whole person and supported by someone who will meet you with curiosity, honesty, and genuine care throughout the process.
