However, many families overstep, which can lead to toxic relationships. Just like “keep out” signs mark physical limits, social boundaries limit certain behaviors or topics. For example, when a teenager slams her bedroom door, it’s a clear signal to leave her alone.
Addressing boundaries with friends or family can feel awkward, but it’s essential. You deserve peace in your physical, emotional, and mental space.
